Thank you for your comments and your feedback it makes my life a ton easier...by the way I do read ESPNtheMag cover to cover every week and love Bill Simmons. Sorry I would have liked to post a few days ago, but I no longer have time to even play RockBand, so the blog also had to go on the back burner.

Please read Appleton East head boys' track and field & head freshman football coach Schultz's blog...the link will be posted under my links. The site provides an excellent overview of athletic training and nutrition.

This brings us into today's (tonight's) topic of discussion which is that of the new weight room equipment.

Appleton East has been given a grant from the members of former East football player, the late Dan Song. This grant money has gone to improving the weight room and the equipment has finally arrived!!!!!!! Please find time to come in and put the equipment to good use. There is progress being made on a universal program for male and female athletes to train together, and now with brand new equipment, the ball may finally begin to roll. ATHLETES (MALE AND FEMALE) PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO COME TO THE WEIGHT ROOM...ATTENDANCE IS NEVER HIGH ENOUGH AND THE MORE THE MERRIER. With the new equipment there is more than enough room and any other issues talked about amongst captains at captains council have also been resolved.

I will see you in there

Thanks to the few of you who answered the poll...I plan on keeping it running so as to get a feel for what you want to read.

Ill say this to those of you who like to read my articles: the next Courier will not disappoint (hint hint LOGAN)

onto recaps which will be the basis of today's blog

There is at least a one in three chance that you could walk up to anybody in the hallway and ask them for the boy's varsity basketball record and get the answer faster than Brent Schrieber can run a 40...if you can't wait the 4.7ish seconds for the response its here...8-1 (1/2 game up on Kaukauna for the conf!!) It's been a great start so far with the exception of one rough night, we have been very successful.

One thing that has flown completely (and unfairly) under the radar is the 6-2 record the girl's team has put up. I have not had much opportunity to see them in action this year as I am on the boys' varsity team (bench) but did catch a glipse at the basketball frenzy vs. AWest and hope to see a little more against ANorth. All I can say I have to say is that they are hot right and hopefully will continue to string wins together in the second half.

The second half starts on Friday with both sets of basketball teams playing in the ANorth gym...BE THERE

Happy Holidays everyone!

In case you were unable to make it the boy's jv and varsity teams both one their non conference games down in Milwaukee. A great victory led by Adam Bell's early downpour of threes and John Anderson with his first varsity start. Thank you to all East fans who attended and once again Happy Holidays

It's good to know people are reading this after I had to resort to ALL CAPS!!!! Anyway, tonight you are getting hit with my rant on the NFL.

But first, a preview for the big game on Saturday night. There are many questions surrounding this game. Although I would like to pretend otherwise, I am no expert either. What I do know is that St. Paul Johnson is a big team and very strong. One thing working in our benefit will be our speed and quickness which will lead to many three balls raining down. I also know they like to throw an agressive 2-3. Come watch as varsity B-ball looks to extend its current winning streak.

Now on to a topic that has upset me. The NFL has turned down Roy Williams' suspension appeal for a horsecollar tackle. For those of you unaware of what a horse collar is, it is a tackle in which a.) T.O. is tackled from behind and fakes injury or b.) Roy Williams tackles anybody from behind. He is being fined for an illegal tackle which makes me wonder why we don't just give the quarterbacks a belt with flags, or better yet have a NTHTFL (National Two Hand Touch Football League) anybody else mad about the horse collar rule?

Ive been meaning to write a new post but I've been really busy and there hasn't been a whole lot to write about UNTIL TODAY...

Courier exclusive interview with David DAHVEED Salzwedel

MH:Congratulations on a big win last night, what was Fondy ranked?
DS: They're the number two team in the state.
MH: What was they key factor in the win?
DS: We just came together as a team and played really well.
DS: I'd love to stay and talk but I have to go to chemistry.
MH: Well good luck the rest of the season.

Less than thirty seconds later admirer and baseball teammate Brett Young declared "He should be going pro soon". Young went on to say "Hola Dahveed"end quote. end post.

I'm BAAAAAACK

Sorry, it's been a while since my last post, and we have some catching up to do.

Boy's Basketball is off to a 3-0 start beating Neenah Friday night after putting out Reed Becker's early storm of threes. Boys look to improve their record against the also undefeated Fondy on Friday night at home. Look for a scoring frenzy.

Speaking of undefeated teams, the Girl's team is off to a 2-0 start after beating Madison West. However, the win came with a price as PG Tristan Weiner is out for the season with a torn ACL...ouch. Despite the setback, the girls rebounded back grabbing a 50-37 win over Neenah as well Friday Night.

Next post (hopefully):Tuesday
